Tropical Green smoothie

Another Beautiful Morning! And today we varied a bit in the smoothie category, well in a few ways at least.


Ingredients (measurements approximate)
1 cup vanilla coconut milk (naturally Gluten Free)
1 medium banana, peeled
1/4 cup frozen cut spinach
1 frozen cup wheat grass juice (ironically Gluten Free, pre-portioned cups)
1-2 cups frozen mixed tropical fruit (peach, pineapple, strawberry, grape...)
dash of vegan protein powder


Why the coconut milk? To take a break from soy, two weeks ago it was Hemp milk. It's great to mix things up, for one thing it limits the soy intake, for another it's Gluten Free, for a third I really like the idea of mixing up my sources for nutrients. That last reason is also why the Wheat grass.

I should also add that my smoothies make about 16 oz. Sometimes a little more, sometimes less. If you are wary of the spinach or thoughts of anything green, start slowly adding a little, I am hoping to get up to a cup of greens soon myself.
