Okay Rachael Ray, you rock my socks.
My husband can't stand trying to chew traditional cheese steaks, so here is my solution, Rachael Ray style.
Some EVOO
1 lb ground sirloin
1 onion, chopped
some salt and pepper
1/4 cup A.1. Sauce
1 Cup beef broth
2 TBS butter
2 TBS flour
1 cup of milk
1 cup provolone cheese
4 Home made burger buns (seriously AMAZING)
Saute meat in a bit of oil, the amount will depend on how fatty your meat is, then add onion, salt and pepper and cook until meat is crumbled and onion is soft. Add steak sauce and broth and allow to cook down a but.
In a sauce pan melt butter and add flour - whisk in, to make a roux, then whisk in milk and heat until beginning to bubble, melt in cheese. WARNING THIS WILL BE THICK THICK THICK I also wasn't impressed with the flavor of the sauce on its own but with the meat YUMMY.
Top buns with a tiny smear of mayo, then meat then sauce.
Serve with a gigantic green salad and ENJOY!
The only thing I might do next time is add some chopped bell peppers
