Pizza on a whim

Now some days we just have to improvise right? well lucky for em I was ready!
Tonight my beloved opted to help a friend rather than eat here with me, so I thought "perfect time to make a 100% vegan pizza, from scratch"... Now I may have used vegan cheese but this...this my friends will be an ode to Dayia...

First, a teaser
Yep that's right A.M.A.Z.I.N.G hardly covers it...
Dough:
1 cup warm water (around 100* F)
1 pkg active yeast (2 1/2 tsp
1 TBS sugar
3 1/4 cup Flour
1 tsp   salt
1 TBS olive oil

Proof yeast and mix 3 cups of flour and other ingredients (minus oil). rapidly stir in yeast mix., Transfer to a well floured surface and begin kneading, use remaining 1/4 cup flour until dough is no longer sticky. Knead until elastic and shiny.
Set in a well oiled bowl and allow to rise about 45 minutes. Once risen split into the size dough you want (no more than 1/4" think)

Sauce:  Ingredients:
3 tomatoes, cored and seeded
1  carrot peeled and diced
1/8 onion diced
4 cloves garlic
1 TBS balsamic vinegar
dash of celery seed
dash Italian seasonings
dash basil
In a medium sauce pan heat a little oil, onion, carrot and celery seed. Cook until onion is translucent add in diced tomatoes , garlic and balsamic vinegar and reduce. Once thickening add in other seasonings and allow to simmer for 5-10 more minutes.

Take risen dough and form into "pie" on pizza "peel", sprinkle garlic powder on top
cover with sauce.

Sprinkle on "cheese" and other toppings.

*the peel is a metal or wooden form that you can easily transfer the pizza to the pizza stone.
*take a moment to appreciate Dayia. I have been wary to attempt a full Dayia pizza. Now that I have I can't tell you why. It is a creamy soft flavored cheese that will accompany any other flavors slated to mingle. It added a perfect hint of flavor to this Vegan pizza and I can't imagine a pizza without it now. I might even like it better than Dairy cheese, but that's just me. *wink*
Top "cheese" with veggies and transfer to preheated oven (500
*F and pizza stone). Bake about 15-20 minutes or until crust is "golden" allow to cool and slice and enjoy
Now that I have made this I'm not sure there is a Pizza in the world I could possibly enjoy more, and that is the honest truth.

  2. Beautiful. And I love the new look of your blog. How do you manipulate the text and pictures to show up where you want? (i.e. get text to right of photo) I've done it before - but it always seems like an accident. :)
